COVID-19 Memo

Memo

To: Membership

From: CUPE 2195 Executive Committee

CC: Kevin Rochon

Given the current situation regarding COVID-19, the Executive Committee has made the decision to cancel the April General Membership Meeting that was to take place on April 8th, 2020.

The Executive is making all efforts to address our member’s concerns with Management during this difficult time. The topics that will be discussed with Management are around compensation of sick time for those that need to take time off, chain of command, vulnerable populations, and working from home. We will forward information as it becomes available. Please continue to reach out to your Stewards and Exec members with any concerns. All contact information can be found on our website at www.2195.cupe.ca.

Please note that if you have signed up for any trainings or conventions over the next couple months that these will likely be cancelled. We will update members as we receive information from CUPE.

Please encourage your colleagues to sign up for our email list and/or keep an eye on our website for our most up to date information. They can sign up for the email list on the website at www.2195.cupe.ca. Just a friendly reminder to sign up using your personal email account, as we cannot send union business to YSB email addresses. If you are uncertain if you have signed up or do not appear to be receiving emails, please verify your junk mail/spam folder or you can contact Michelle Doiron, Recording-Secretary, at ysbcupe2195@gmail.com.

In Solidarity,

Michelle Doiron

Raising the Roof Toronto

Little known fact – CUPE 2195 President Don Baker often donates part of his daily Per Diem to those in need when traveling on union business. While in Toronto, he donated to these lovely people at Raising the Roof Toronto, an organization who fights homelessness in the area.
